About

Where the Indian and Atlantic oceans clash at the Southernmost Tip of Africa, lies the continent’s only true cool climate wine region. Below the vines and the fynbos-covered mountains is a rocky peninsula as stunning as it is treacherous, aptly named Danger Point. The waters surrounding have claimed the lives of thousands of seafarers, including the majority aboard the HMS Birkenhead. The tragedy of this infamous troopship led to the “women and children first” protocol, still honored today.

The historic Danger Point Lighthouse. Commissioned in 1895, stands protecting the beautiful Romans Bay and warns seafarers away.

In a region of such rich history and lush terroir, we let our wines tell their own tale. Never over-worked or masked with too much oak – our wines are elegant, vibrant, and honest expressions of African cool-climate. Look for the subtle, lingering minerality upon the finish – a gift from the sea as it blankets the vines in cool ocean air all year long. Youthful and fruit-forward, these wines are ready to be enjoyed upon release.

Our vineyards are planted on previously cultivated land within sight of the ocean. The extreme weather conditions combined with the uniqueness of the terroir are reflected in our distinctive linear and flinty style of wines.
